Wags confirma que la versión ZA del L-39 Albatros vendrá despues de la salida de la beta en septiembre, junto a DCS: World 1.5.

The L-39ZA will be part of the DCS: L-39 Albatros module, but it will probably not be included in the initial open beta release.

Another point: The Albatros module will be released as an open beta in September 2015 along with DCS World 1.5.0. This version will use the new rendering engine, but only include the Black Sea map.

I will discuss this more on the next stream.

The module simulates the Airbus Helicopter SA-342M Gazelle Viviane HOT for DCS World.
Systems and Flight model.

All systems and the flight model have been simulated from available data in the manuals and tuned to fit real pilots and technicians feedbacks.

Rotor System
Normal flight phases and autorotation are simulated.
The OA209 airfoil has been taken as a reference and then tweaked to fit the real blades lift and drag. Lift and drag coefficients of the OA209 airfoil have been recorded from a wind tunnel simulation. Then the rotor lift and drag are calculated in real time in game.
Blades flapping is simulated regarding the real time flight parameters.
Rotor Rpm fits the charts when in autorotation.

Fuel System
The fuel system follows the available charts from the manuals.
Fuel consumption is calculated depending on aerodynamics (external loads),
weight, atmosphere density, temperature and altitude, flight phase ...

Flight model
All flight phases are simulated : Hover, Linear flight, turns, autorotation
Vortex effect during hovering is functional.
Ground effect is functional.

Navigation System
All real Gazelle navigation devices are simulated : NADIR, ADF Radio, ADF/Sight/NADIR gauge (horizontal situation, ADF and waypoint indications)

Radio communication system
The AM radio and the Intercom are simulated
The FM radio (PR4G) is also simulated with custom datas and procedures due to its classified aspect.

Sounds
Sounds of the cockpit have been extracted from original videos recorded by a Gazelle technician. Sounds of the Turbine and the rotor are original as well.

Weapons
This gazelle simulation features the HOT3 missile and the needed devices to fire it.
Video display : The TV displays a moving map and the Viviane sight datas
Video command : The Video command allows to use the moving map or to display
the Viviane sight datas.
HOT missile console : it allows to make the missiles up to fire and is linked to the Video command console.
Viviane (APX 397) sighting device : external camera linked to the weapon system.
HOT3 missile : wire guided missile, the user has to guide the missile manually to the target until the impact.

Warning Receiver
The warning receiver system is simulated through the sensors and a display (DRAXX 33)
The real symbology is not used due to its classified aspect, a custom symbology is used instead.

Flare dispenser
The Flaredispenser system includes the Flaredispenser cockpit command (MATRA B0) and the external launcher.

Lights system
Cockpit lights and external navigation/anti-collision lights are simulated.

Damage system
The damage system is simulated and includes external visual damages
(rotor and blades, fuselage, main cockpit glass...)
The effects of the damages are taken in count and change the flight conditions
(aerodynamics, lift, speed ...)
All systems include the damage effects too (electric, fuel, engine ...)

Multi-Crew
The player can swap from the pilot position to the board commander position.
Missiles can be fired only from the board commander position.

Performances
Maximum speed during linear flight fits the charts.
Ceiling fits the charts.
Maximum vertical velocity fits the charts.

The start-up procedure follows the pilot manual.

Autopilot
More than a real Autopilot, the Gazelle features a SAS (Stability Augmentation System)
This feature is simulated as well in the module, and follows the real functions.

Lights
All available lights systems from the real model have been simulated, including navigation lights, formation lights, strobe light, extend-able landing light.
The cockpit features instruments internal light, UV light and a roof lamp with a move-able red lens so you can have a white or a red light.

All this is subject to change and will be updated in time.

Stream de hoy, en el Q&A, Wags explicó que el L-39 Traerá primero la versión C y despues la versión ZA, esta ultima gratis, pero saldrá mas tarde devido a los cambios en el exterior, la cabina, sistemas y armamento. DCS: W 1.5, que será la versión interina que vendrá en septiembre es en si 2.0 con todo lo que se ha hablado anteriormente sobre ella (el ejecutable unificado, cambios en el GUI, nuevo motor DX11, soporte del L-39, nuevos efectos, visión por satelite en el editor de misiones, la nueva IA, etc), lo unico que no traerá será la integración de nuevos mapas como NTTR, (como DCS: W 2.0) que vendrá despues, por supuesto, todo gratis (excepto mapas, que serán pagos, excepto si comprasteis el A-10C en beta en el que tendreis NTTR gratis).

Se sigue trabajando en la cabina del F-18 y los SMI, la cabina del Mig-29 va muy bien, y estan haciendo prograsos en el modelo externo, y se ha actualizado el codigo del DK2 SKD del Oculus Rift.

Sobre 3rd Parties, Wags habla de la entrada de Polychop Simulators en DCS: W, la apertura por parte de Leatherneck de la pagina web del F-14, RAZBAM con las pruebas del radar en el Mirage 2000, VEAO ha sacado un Stream del P-40F (lo pondré despues) y los renders del EuroFighter. Despues estan las Q&A de cada semana.

Una de las preguntas, está muy interesante, ya que habla de daños de fragmentación de la bombas. En las pruebas realizadas, una bomba guiada GBU-12 de 1000 Lbs lanzadas contra un tanque, destruye este con un impacto directo, unos camiones a 500 pies son destruidos, a 1000 pies son dañados, infanteria a 200 pies es muerta y a 2500 pies es herida (un poco exagerado segun el), despues se lanzó la misma GBU-12 contra el tanque pero impactandolo al lado. El tanque quedó dañado.

Hey Guys,

Well it didn’t take you long to spot that now did it!

Yeah I am sorry to confirm that for the time being at least we have pulled all our rotary projects including NH-90.

I completed an annual review recently on the progress of the modules in development along with all the process’ that we are going through for them. As part of that I have to assess viability for each project, when we came out with our roadmap we have envisioned that we would recruit at least 3 new programmers, in reality we only got 1 on top of the 2 we had already. In short it’s just too much work and without extra programmers helo’s were just something that was in the long grass. Compounded by the fact that we do not have any work outside of DCS that encompasses helo’s it made them the category that was the one to go.

That is not saying that they won’t come back at some point in time, just that it is not right now and that it won’t be in the next 3-4 years which is what this roadmap is primarily focused on.

For the time being we are concentrating on what we are becoming experts on, Warbirds, Early Jets and of course Typhoon!

Hi guys.

Here is a little update of the pilot. The last 2 days I worked on the facial texture. I think right now I have hit the right color tone and placed the first basic color blocking of the helmet.

Next step, details on the helmet and at last the mic.

After that is done I will add some ageing and scratches to the objects.
In basic you see there the internal view, which will be used for the external too, so the textures will stay the same and only be reduced in scale so it does not hit the gpu to much.

Hi Guys

Something Chris and I have been reviewing recently is our communication policy with the community and forums at large. To be quite honest with you it can be very depressing and demoralising for everyone involved.

Hundreds of hours, Thousands of messages are exchanged monthly in working on these projects for you, the general populous, and to be frank we get a lot of hate and grumbling about incomplete or WIP shots of things that are going on in the background. It has already cost us 2 development members who quite frankly just don’t want to work on DCS or be in the community any longer.

This cannot continue.

As such effectively immediately we will not be releasing any renders or WIP of any of our projects going forwards until they are in test with ED and pending pre-sale and then release.

Chris and I will maintain our presence on the forums and answer questions as/when we have time or the need but aside from that we will not be communicating any progress on our projects until they near completion.

We are both sorry that it has come to this but we just cannot continue as we are.

Hola a toda la comunidad hispana. Hace unas semanas nos juntamos un grupo de entusiastas de la simulación aérea y decidimos comenzar un proyecto muy ilusionante, el SH-3 Sea King.

Queremos trabajar duro para poder ofrecer a la comunidad esta leyenda de la aviación naval. Estamos convencidos de que será un buen aliado del Hornet y el Tomcat en el futuro. Una de las claves que nos impulso a hacer este helicóptero fue la de imaginarnos dentro de la cabina de este, en una cubierta de portaaviones atestada de ambos aparatos alrededor.

De momento estamos dando nuestros primeros pasos y sabemos que nos queda un largo camino para finalizarlo, pero haremos un esfuerzo enorme porque el resultado agrade a toda la comunidad.

No quiero terminar sin mencionar que uno de nuestros miembros es Silver Dragon, un viejo y bien conocido miembro de este foro.

Esperamos que este proyecto os ilusione tanto como a nosotros.

A preguntas de la comunidad sobre los trenes y su importancia en la invasión de dia D y la segunda guerra mundial para WW2, Racoon comenta que actualmente tienen creadas las redes principales de transporte ferroviario en Normandia. Aun así comenta que actualmente los trenes no son objetos que puedan ser usados por los creadores de misiones, Ellos esperan crear dicha capacidad (para mi la interdición de trenes es esencial en cualquier escenarios de la segunda guerra mundial). Mas de uno ha comentado ya que son imprescindibles para el modulo del P-47 Thunderbolt. Como no, no estaría mal para cualquier mapa ya que el ataque sobre trenes de transporte de tropas y militares en el caucaso abriria un abanico de oportunidades.

I do understand importance of a trains for WWII scenarios. We have all major railroads in the Normandy map now. Big problem is that trains in DCS aren't objects for mission makers. So we should create this feature for sure.

Comenta tambien que tienen en mente dos objetivos sobre los trenes:
- Uno como objeto para las misiones
- Otro como sistema de transporte de recursos entre almacenes y aerodromos.

Segun Aviodev el codigo de Radio e intercom es funcional en la cabina delantera y trasera del C-101EB, esperan que haya un update pronto. Esperan poner un post con mas información al respecto y sacar un video mostrando su funcionamiento.

Hi,

I know, communication is not our best asset, and it's something we have been trying to improve, and we will keep trying for sure. Apologies for that.

As our first projects, we were ot free to make mistakes, and bad choies at some points, for example thinking to take two variants of the same version, it would be not so hard to achieve. Then we found those two variants had more diferences than we expect, and also both are two-seaters. That means in terms of code, manage four cockpits, ang brings a massive time invested to implement them in the best way. Just multricrew meant rework and reestructure a big part of the code to make it possible, in talking EB/CC that means do it twice. Add to this, AFM integration with systems and get a proper results.

But when beta was released, we acquire a compromise with the community about the features in the C-101, and we feel we must complete the project with this features even it means lot of extra time invested. It is a very special project for us, and we won't be happy with us if for release something quickly, we have to a lite version of DCS C-101.

This week we implemented Comm UHF and VHF radio + Intercom in front and rear cockpit on EB. It took time to achieve this milestone. We were waiting to make a post with this feature and a video showing how they work now, so there was no news in almost one month as we wanted the whole pack of comms radio ready. This will be available on next update.

I know this post can be understood as excuses, or doesn't help to dissipate some concerns. As some of you could think this looks very bad, but after all this months, and with all the problems, hey we are still alive and ready, as we never had any doubt about this project, and we keep everyday focused and working on the target.

We really want to thank you very much to all these people who still sends their support to us, it really means a lot to us. And for those who has lost their faith on this, we just hope our work and commitment will reverse this.

Mas información de Wags sobre el mapa del Caucaso en 2.5, la resolución de las elevaciones han sido aumentadas a una media de un 400%, por lo que han desaparecido casi todos los bordes afilados de las montañas, se han añadido colinas mas detalladas, crestas y laderas y nuevos sitios en las tierras bajas. Se espera una nueva remesa de imagenes en las proximas semanas. Esta actualización del caucaso seguirá siendo gratuita y se espera su salida a finales del año 2016.

Hola everyone,

A little update... today the Caucasus map for DCS World 2.5 had its terrain elevation resolution increased by an average of 400%. This has eliminated almost all sharp edges to the terrain; and it's added rolling hills, much more detailed ridges and mountain sides, and provided many new places to hide down low.

I'll try to post some images in the coming weeks.

Yes, this is still a FREE upgrade planned for later this year.
