Se ha desvelado el asunto (T-6 Texan II añadido a la lista de RAZBAM)

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1833842&postcount=16
Guys, there are no civilian aircraft in the pipeline, and least not from us, Jose is doing some civilian aircraft for our FSX production line. He is jumping into DCS with a T-6 Texan II trainer.Jose will create the mesh and all what´s involved with it and our coding team will put it into DCS.This development will be done at Jose´s own pace and you´ll see updates as soon as he gets stuff done. Why a T-6 Texan II you´ll say?, well since we are doing to the Navy a T-2 for carrier ops (and learning the ropes into DCS development) we are using the Texan II to the very same purpose to the USAF/Other Air Forces and at the same time to learn more into MFD´s development in DCS, which will lead us to higher performance aircraft, like the F-15E and Harrier and such. It´s all a learning process, we are taking advantage of what we have done already, and we want a steady flow.BTW, questions regarding this model should be directed towards joanvalley (Jose Valdez) which is very eager to answer them.He is project creator and also it´s manager.
Best regards
Prowler

"Hey why so quiet lately, what are you up to these days??" - Basically a question i've been getting a couple of times, so here's a quick update:

What i've been up to? Well, it's summer! So basically i've just been enjoying my time off work, and of course, been enjoying summer! On the movie front, well... my focus has already shiftet towards making Project 18, and I'm thinking of making a little teaser for that movie already (and no, don't ask questions regarding DCS F-18, or whatever it will be called, as there is no news on that front yet).

If the music I have chosen for the movie is final (which i now believe it is), this movie will be over 9 minutes long, and that is quite long for a promo movie. But trust me when I say this: The music I have chosen is better than anything I've ever done before, and the movie will of course be bigger than Project 10.

Expect lots of epic action and drama, sceenic views, calm sections, thrills, a little speech thrown in there, and maybe even some goosebumps!

Cheers guys and gals!

Nuevo comunicado de IRIS Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/irissimulations?ref=stream&hc_location=stream
- DCS Update - 9th August 2013

It's been a productive few months on the DCS side, slow but steady coding for the most part between other commitments. The news though is positive.

Over the last year we've been working hard to learn new skills in terms of DCS development. We admit that coming from another platform, it's been hard work learning not just how the DCS environment works, but also how to code, model and work behind the scenes with a brand new product platform.

However, we haven't taken the journey alone, we've been surrounded by support from the ED Team, always there when we need them, and the valued advice from many other 3rd party developers.

We have though, we feel, reached the end of the journey as far as experiments on the BD-5 testbed is concerned. We've determined a number of things on what to do and more importantly, what not to do whilst working on the aircraft. We feel it's time to put that item to bed and focus on one of our core DCS products.

Whilst many of you have seen images of the F-22 & F-14 in DCS in the past, we're in final discussions on which airframe will be the focus for the DCS development team moving forward.

We'll also be advising those interested in developing with us via email in the next few days. Many appplied for beta positions and only a small few were accepted, we'll be expanding that next week and inviting more people to join the dev team whilst keeping it small enough to manage effectively.

We have a wide variety of new positions opening up for this development which we're interviewing for. If you feel you can bring something to the team, I invite you to send a message to us via the 'Contact Us' tab under the IRIS banner at the top of the page.

I look forward to bringing together a bright group of like minded people for this new endeavour!

VEAO Hawk

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1834999&postcount=714
Dev diary update 9th August

Well things have been very slow recently, almost to a full stop.
With the release of 1.2.5. came a change in the way the cockpits talk to the sim, and with that our cockpit code no longer talks to the sim.
Some of us can get in the jet and it looks pretty but nothing at all works. And others of us can't get even get into DCS as the mod seems to make DCS crash.

So...frustrations aside Tango has been working tirelessly to get it working again but at the moment to no avail.
We, along with other 3rd party devs, are working with ED to get things moving again.
As soon as I have more to update you on this situation I'll let you know.

For me, I've had a very busy time with work for the past 2 weeks since coming back from my relaxing 5 days on the beach so not had time to do anything VEAO related, except re-negotiate the Thrustmaster sponsorship contract for the Virtual Red Arrows for the 4th year running. We're in final discussions and hope to get that signed soon.

Which leads me nicely on to Duxford in September...We'll be in TFC's hangar from Friday 6th through to Sunday 8th September with our friends at Virtual Aerobatics.
If you missed the opportunity to come and fly the Hawk last month then you have another chance next month and I'll try and throw a little something from Thrustmaster in for a weekend competition

Have a great weekend guys,
Chris.

9 August 2013 - DCS News Update

Steam News
This past week was a very significant step for the DCS series by offering DCS World and its modules (also known as DLC) on Steam. This has proved a great success and we see this as a very important outlet and expansion for the series. Other titles coming to DCS on Steam soon include:
A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs (16 August 2013)
DCS: UH-1H Huey

We are also working with Steam to improve our presence there by: allowing activation of DCS Steam products from key purchase sources other than Steam; enabling Overlay, play time tracking, and achievements; and we hope to take advantage of Steam Workshop for items such as missions and campaigns.

DCS 1.2.5
The team is now focused on completing a final update for DCS version 1.2.5. Once this version is released, we will move on to version 1.2.6 which will center on the release of the Mi-8MTv2 beta.

New Su-25T Cockpit
Work is underway on a new cockpit for the Su-25T that will be of the same standards as the newly updated Flaming Cliffs 3 cockpits, that includes six degrees of freedom (6 DOF) head movement. Once this is complete, we plan on creating updated Su-25T training videos. The attached images are very early Work in Progress (WiP) of the new cockpit in construction.

New Effects
New effect development continues. Today I can share that we are working on engine smoke. Depending on the throttle setting, engine smoke will vary, and each aircraft can have a custom level of smokiness. The attached image is early a WiP.

DCS product announcement.

I have the great pleasure in announcing that our very first DCS release will be the Northrop Grumman T-38C Talon!

Thanks to superb resources provided by contacts in the USAF and The Fighter Collection, we have everything we need to create an effective, in depth and diverse simulation of the United States Air Force's primary fast jet trainer!

If you feel you have something you can bring to the team to help us make the very best simulation of the T-38C, please let us know via the contact us tab at the top of this page.

We are both excited and full of energy for this new development!! We will of course have more news for you all as development progresses.

Hello everyone.

We know you have been waited for this newsflash last week, and we apologize not having enough time to create one. This one comes few days earlier this week and I hope other team members will post their individual news in this or separated threads during this week.

The biggest news is not so good for our team but it won't affect our progress: in a big thunderstorm that happened few days ago in Hungary, beczl's PC was badly damaged including the HDD. All important files and related work was backed up daily, so no concerns about data loss. However, recovering the workstation with all the software tools and data will require substantial financial and time resources. All team members have their own copies of most of the files + back up copies, so no reason to worry about the continuation of the project. We wish you quick recovery beczl.

Concerning the external 3D model, as you probably know, Rudel finished it and textures migration is in progress. Model is beautiful, clean, optimized and will look just great with new textures. Lot of work there, but the hardest part is done.

RAZBAM-Cobra is finishing the new magnificent cockpit this week, and we can't wait to see screens of all the panels with masterpiece details in Beta. Bind it with Rudel's model, and you'll have a plane to stare at for hours.

AFM (advanced flight model) is approaching Beta and will be declared Beta hopefully this week. Aircraft performances are close within the flight domain, and some fine tuning left to be done. Currently, I'm working on new breaking/steering (taxi) model which is implemented in AFM due to unsatisfactory results we had with previous one.

Roland is working on weapon system (and related subsystems) migration from LUA and improved implementation. Along with AFM, this is the most important part of model simulation. It will require some time, but once I free myself from AFM, I'll help Roland to speed up his work.

In last 7 days we fixed number of bugs and code-dependent visual effects, and apart from above mentioned WIP, we need to implement DCS radio communication model which is required in order to support correct comm with AI layer and other players in multiplayer.

Sounds (mentioned in WN No.4) are still waiting for the fix. Since this is not high priority issue, it will be done once we finish Beta so we can fix this in parallel with other testing and minor fixing.

I hope this will compensate for the lack of info last week.

Thank you for your support, we won't let you down.

The past week, most of the team has been occupied with:

1- FC3 bugs
2- Supporting UH-1H and Mi-8MTV2
3- Various system changes that span multiple modules
4- Rendering engine
5- Steam and Gamefly launch

A new update was released today (1.2.5.16508.227), but the only change is that it provides compatibility with the release of DCS World and modules on Gamefly.

In the near future we will be building the first 1.2.6 branch. For those that care to take part, this will be available as open beta in the near future. Later, 1.2.6 will feature the Mi-8MTV2 beta.

Since laz's PC is down I'll try and answer for him;

It's his little sideproject on the side of the MiG-21 / MiG-23, as he frequently has nothing to do while the rest of us chip and chisel away.

Many of the meshes are old ones he has on his HDD; which just makes it a natural thing to do as well.

For this week's update, I have frantically been checking and rechecking the model before texturing. For those that like up-close screenshots., I've added detail to the cockpit. The canopy had a major overhaul as well. After using FFD modifiers, I managed to give it it's bubbly appearance. The pilot and ejection seat were scaled to a correct size too.

If time allows the windscreen will get corrected too.

Due to the summer holidays and Gamescon, not much new news to pass along this week. The team is mostly focused on getting the 1.2.6 open beta ready (it is basically in alpha testing now internally). For those that wish to participate in the open beta, we hope these open betas will benefit checking bug fixes in 1.2.6 like more stable network play in particular. The team has also been busy supporting BST with the upcoming beta release DCS: Mi-8MTV2, working on the new flight dynamics for the Su-27S and F-15C, and continued work on engine code.

Mig-21Bis

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1850719&postcount=1
Hi folks,

First of all; sincerest apologies for the delay of this weekly newsflash. It was meant to be published last week, but sometimes development of certain components and/or artwork takes longer than expected.

With that being said however, the information has been updated so to be current for today.

Exterior:
Mike (Rudel) has now finished all meshwork on the MiG-21 exterior.
Clean, detailed, perfectly shaped according to reference materials and ready for new UVs.

Pictures available here; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=155

With that I'd like to clarify that the exterior texture artwork is also getting completely redone. Higher res, new riveting, new panel lines, new weathering and heavy emphasis on great normal/spec masters. Mike should start laying rivets before the end of this week.

Interior:
Texture artwork for the cockpit is progressing very nicely. There are still two full textures left to overhaul; and after that there are still several textures that need to be normalmapped and specularmapped.

In creation of the normal and specular maps for the canopy; high-poly to low-poly normal map baking was utilized, which really helped in bringing out the details necessary for larger items close to the users point of view.
As always; considering thousands upon thousands of hours will be spent by players in this cockpit, I try to consider every detail and make sure every part is as good as it possibly can be.

Below you'll find some attached realtime screenshots of the new KM-1M Ejection Seat and harness that will be in the cockpit. Please note that there are major errors still visible on these shots; so take them with a grain of salt.

Texture overhaul for the cockpit will be complete by the end of this week.

System / AFM:
The Mig-21 codebase has been progressing at an excellent pace. Both Novak and Roland have made excellent progress.

Novak reports that the MiG-21 AFM is now in internal BETA!.
Everything relevant is implemented, and it is currently undergoing testing. Work continues on bughunting and various subsystems.

Roland is working on weapons systems integration via C++; one of the most complex systems of the aircraft. He has also implemented Autopilot which is currently undergoing testing.

In essence; Soon (tm)

Bezcl is still down due to a mixup with packages for hardware delivery. He will also be gone on a business trip for a week in early September. This does not impact our development schedule or workflow.

Thank you all once again for your support, and we look forward to flying the MiG-21 with you.

RAZBAM T-2
http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1851894&postcount=52
Hey guys, long time no update!

I've been really wrapped up in my day job, but knew I needed to give you guys an update on what's going on:

Flying Qualities/Dynamics/Performance:
I feel pretty good with the flying qualities, I'll try to generate some performance/data charts as some comparisons. In general the aircraft operates in the appropriate envelopes and it's fun to see the same behavior of the aircraft as seen in youtube videos, but the proof is in the numbers so I'll try to get that out to you guys soon.

Engine and Fuel Systems:
In general, steady state performance is golden, it's using a really cool physics based model based off NASA/DOD real time simulation block diagrams for similar engines of that generation then modified for the specific J85 we are going for. Again, I'd like to show some neat data charts for engine performance comparison.

For engine dynamics, it also models a very convincing fuel governor, which I consider the most important part of the engine model since it uses various cams, valves, etc.. to control the fuel going into the engine based off a few parameters.

For engine startup/shutdown, I'm still working on getting it right. It'd be easier if this were a parametric model, but it's physics based so it's tough to get the right dynamic behavior, will keep you guys updated on the progress.

That's all for now!

30 August 2013 - DCS News Update

The items from last week's update are by and large still the same. However, below is a PRELIMINARY change log for 1.2.6. As a preliminary change log, this is very much subject change - meaning that items may be added or removed prior to its release.

DCS 1.2.6 Preliminary Change Log

In addition to the items listed below, there are other items we are working on for 1.2.6 that are not quite ready yet. One example is changes to the radar and EOS code. These had been merged for quite some time and has been limiting what we could do with these two sensors. We are now in the process of separating them into different code entities that will allow better modeling and help with future modules. This is also why this has taken longer than some might expect.

DCS World
Added new anti-ship penetrating warhead for anti-ship missiles.
Increased Max G for the following missiles: R-60 (from 18 to 42), MICA (from 18 to 24), and R-40 (from 8 to 15).
